Overview
This Privacy Policy explains what information RedSquibble collects when you visit redsquibble.com, how we use it and the choices you have. RedSquibble is an editorial publication covering debut and emerging authors. We collect as little personal information as we can, and we do not sell it.
By using the site you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Information We Collect
Information you give us. When you sign up for the First Pages newsletter we collect your email address. When you use our contact form we collect your name, email address, optional organization, your role, the subject you choose and your message. When you send us a book pitch or review copy we receive whatever information you include.
Information collected automatically. Like almost every website, our hosting provider records basic technical information when pages are requested. This includes your IP address, browser type, device type, the page you asked for, the referring page and the date and time of the request. These logs are used to deliver the site, keep it secure and fix problems.
Information from other services. When a page loads, your browser requests fonts from Adobe Fonts and Google Fonts. Those providers receive your IP address and browser information as part of that request. Their use of that information is governed by their own privacy policies.
How We Use Information
- To send the First Pages newsletter to people who asked for it
- To read and reply to messages, pitches and review copy requests
- To operate, secure and improve the site
- To publish corrections and respond to reader feedback
- To comply with the law and protect our rights and the rights of others
We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
RedSquibble does not currently use advertising cookies, analytics cookies or tracking pixels. The site works without storing anything in your browser.
Our hosting and font providers may use small technical files or logs that are strictly necessary to deliver pages securely. If we add analytics or any other non-essential technology in the future, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first.
How Long We Keep Information
We keep newsletter email addresses until you unsubscribe. We keep contact form messages and pitches for as long as they are useful for our editorial work, and generally no longer than three years. Server logs are kept by our host for a limited period set by that provider.
Your Rights and Choices
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any issue. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to receive a copy of it, or to object to or limit how we use it.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. RedSquibble does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Residents of California and other states with similar laws do not need to take any action, but you are welcome to contact us to confirm this or to make any other privacy request.
To make a request, email hello@redsquibble.com with the subject line Privacy Request. We will respond within the time the law requires and will not treat you differently for using your rights.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold, including encrypted connections across the entire site. No website or email system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
RedSquibble is written for adult readers and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Visitors Outside the United States
RedSquibble is operated from the United States. If you visit from another country, your information will be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be noted on the homepage or in the newsletter.

Social Sharing
Our share buttons are simple links. Nothing is sent to Facebook, LinkedIn or Instagram until you click one. When you do, you leave RedSquibble or open a window from that service, and its privacy policy applies to what happens next. The Instagram button creates a share image and caption inside your own browser, and that image is not uploaded to us.
